This year is a very busy one across our parishes with sacramental preparation.  We are working with our parish schools and parish families to ensure that all students from 2020 and 2021 can have access to the sacraments.   This coming weekend we will celebrate First Eucharist for students who should have received it last year and next term we will celebrate First Eucharist for this year’s group as well as Confirmation for last year’s group.  In term four we will celebrate Confirmation for the Year 6 group of 2021.

We are in need of further assistance with preparing the children from our parishes for these sacraments.  As well as our school based programs we offer a six-week preparation program for students in our parish who do not attend our parish schools.  If you have experience or qualifications in catechesis, religious education or teaching and are able to assist us this year we would love to hear from you.  Our sacramental preparation classes normally take place over six one hour sessions on a Thursday or Friday afternoon.  This can be a very rewarding ministry and you would be supported by our Parishes Sacramental Coordinator, Nanette Giovannini and our wonderful team of existing catechists, who would make you welcome and are looking forward to working with you.
