Parish Life during January

Thank you to all who have been involved in parish life during the last year.  Even though we have had long periods in lockdown with our churches closed, there have still been many people active in parish life.

Thank you to our sacristans who have been ready to move straight back into our churches and set things up as soon as Mass was able to be celebrated again.  Thank you to our talented and dedicated Parish Musicians who sprang into action after each lockdown; to Lectors, Leaders and Eucharistic Ministers; to those who continued to make contact with the aged and ill through the Communion to the Sick ministry; to our St Vincent de Paul Conferences who continued to respond to those in need; to our catechists and teachers; to those who prayed, made a phone call, kept in touch and reached out to others.  We are fortunate to have such an active community who witness to their faith in many ways.

Thank you to each and every one of you.

January Arrangements

With many people on holidays during January our parishes will be a little quieter and the following arrangements have been put in place:

  • There will be no Tuesday morning Mass at All Hallows Church from Tuesday, 28 December to Tuesday, 25 January.
  • There will be a holiday roster for Leaders, Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers to ensure that we are covered for these essential roles in our celebration of the Eucharist.  If you have volunteered for any of these ministries, please present yourself to the Sacristy prior to Mass.
  • Altar Servers are asked to check in at the Sacristy before Mass if they are able to assist.
  • There will be no weekend newsletter until the end of January.  If you would like something brought to the attention of the parish community, please email or leave a note at the Parish Office.
  • The Parish Office will be closed from Christmas Eve and reopen on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.  If you need a priest during that time, please leave a message on the answer phone, it is checked on a regular basis.
  • The Parish Office hours during January may vary, please ring ahead before visiting the Parish Office.
