School Voices

It has been a busy few weeks at Our Lady’s Primary School.

Last week we celebrated all things Mathematics.  Families were invited to come along and learn all about how Mathematics is taught at OLPS.  We started the day with a session for families, which was led by Ross Kirwan from the Melbourne Catholic Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Maths Consultant.  It was followed by families visiting the students’ classrooms from Prep to Year Six to share some of their learning and have fun together.  Students and families engaged in QR code scavenger hunts, online quiz games and maths games.

This Monday, 8 August we will celebrate the feast day of St Mary Mackillop.  We will be reflecting on the qualities of Mary, and linking it to our inquiry question ” What makes the world work?”  Mary’s motto, “Never see a need without doing something about it” is a motto that really makes the world work well.  Our prep students will lead us in prayer and meditation next week which will revolve around the qualities of St Mary Mackillop.

As a school community we remember all our Confirmation candidates who will be affirming their commitment to making this special Sacrament at Masses this weekend.
