School Voices

The staff and students at Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School have had a wonderful start to the 2022 academic year.  The school is extremely calm and the students are eager to settle into their learnings for the term.

Our senior leaders did a magnificent job running their first whole school assembly.  They explained and acted out our school values – Respect, Gratitude, Empathy, Courage and Love – and presented awards to students across the school.  At the end of assembly the seniors were presented with their Year 6, 2022 rugby jumpers.

Our Swimming Team completed in the District Swimming Carnival.  They all swam extremely well and many have progressed to the next Swim Meet.

Our staff have conducted Parent Information Sessions and Parent/Teacher Chats via Google Meets over the past two weeks.  This has been a wonderful way for staff and parents alike, to share valuable information about the children.

We received a COVID update on Thursday informing us that the Victorian Government has decided to continue the COVIDSafe measures, including Rapid Antigen Tests, in schools until the end of Term 1, and that from 6.00 pm on Friday, 18 February QR code check-in requirements will no longer be in place for schools.

This weekend we celebrate our Opening of the School Year Mass.  During Mass the senior leaders will be presented with their blessed Captains badges, and one of our young students will be welcomed into God’s house through the Sacrament of Baptism.
