A Message from Christopher Trikilis, Director of Music

Dear friends,

Thank you for your many messages of congratulations and support following recent news of my appointment as Director of Music at Brisbane’s St Stephen’s Cathedral.

It is a surreal time to be packing up and moving north (amid this pandemic) without the chance to thank so many of you in person for your encouragement and enthusiasm in bringing all our liturgies alive with a high-quality music program across our three churches and school.

I especially would like to thank the wonderful musicians (and there are over 60 of you!) who joyfully and professionally bring about the marvellous music we enjoy as a community.  In particular, my gratitude to members of the Basilica Choir, one of this city’s finest Ecclesiastical ensembles, for their diligence and energy.

You have made my family and I feel welcome during the past three years.  We look forward to seeing you again later in the year, with a special farewell recital and reception to celebrate 100 years of the Basilica’s famed Magahy Grand Organ.

A happy and holy Easter to you all.

Christopher Trikilis

Director of Music
