A Worshipping Community
Sunday and weekday Mass
Our Churches are able to welcome everyone and pre-booking is no longer required to attend any of our Masses. Weddings and funerals are permitted with 300 people subject to venue density limits.
You will still need to register using the Victorian Government QR Code upon arrival at Mass. The wearing of a face mask continues to be mandatory when indoors unless you have a lawful reason not to do so.
The Archdiocese of Melbourne continues to deliver weekday and Sunday Mass to you at home. Read more …
Ministry of Communion to the Sick
As the parish communities of Camberwell, Balwyn & Deepdene gather each week for the celebration of the Eucharist, there are those who are unable to be present with us at Mass due to illness or physical limitiations; others are in hospital or reside in aged care facilities.
Music in our Parishes
Sacred music plays a crucial role in the liturgical life of our parishes. It enhances our liturgies and assists in leading participants more deeply into the mystery of our faith. All weekend Masses, weddings, funerals and other liturgical events across our parishes have live music. This is achieved through the ongoing commitment of many music ministers and the coordination of liturgical music for both parishes and the music repertoire for significant liturgical events.
Liturgical Ministries in our Parishes
Parishioners are encouraged to participate in the liturgy by means of the responses, acclamations, songs, the postures of prayer and, at the proper times, by an attentive silence. There are some who undertake particular liturgical roles to assist the priest throughout the celebration of the Mass.
• Altar Servers
• Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion
• Ministers of Communion to the Sick
Parishioners seeking to be involved in any of these liturgical ministries are encouraged to contact Tricia Norman at the Parish Office on 9816 9291 or at Tricia.Norman@cam.org.au.
The Liturgy Group for Camberwell, Deepdene & Balwyn is each responsible for setting the overall vision of liturgy within their respective parishes, with particular emphasis on the liturgical year calendar and the coordination and preparation of liturgies for Lent, the Easter Triduum, Advent and Christmas. The group is keen to nurture the diversity of membership of our faith community and invite parishioners to be drawn more deeply into the liturgical life of the parish through opportunities to participate in various liturgical ministries.
