Sacramental Milestones – July 2021

Each month across our parishes, we welcome infants to be baptised, couples who wish to be married, and families to farewell a loved one.  On the first Sunday of the month, we note the names of all those who, during the previous month, celebrated a milestone or have gone to eternal rest.

Since March 2020, over five lockdowns in Victoria, our Church doors have been closed for six months.  The latest lockdown – number five – meant our churches were closed during most of July and the celebration of Sacraments were postponed.

This week, we  have once again opened for worship.  We ask you to remember the Confirmation candidates in your prayers as they receive the Holy Spirit this weekend at Surrey Hills Wattle Park Parish and the following weekend at Camberwell, Balwyn and Deepdene Parishes.  Looking forward, please remember in your prayers the First Eucharist candidates, whose celebration was postponed due to the lockdown.  Over 75 children will be welcomed at the table of the Lord for the first time on 14 & 15 August, at four Masses across our parishes.
