It has been another super busy term at Our Holy Redeemer Primary school with lots of activities in and around the school.

Our student Maddy S from our 5/6 class qualified to represent Our Holy Redeemer School at the National Cross Country Championships which were recently held in Adelaide.  Competing in trying conditions where it was so muddy that some runners lost their shoes, Maddy finished an amazing 13th – the highest placed finisher from Victoria.  Congratulations Maddy.

In supporting Maddy’s participation in the Championships the Year 5 & 6 students hosted a cake stall raising over $550 which went towards Maddy’s flight and other associated expenses with representing our state in the Nationals Cross Country.

Book Week was held in spectacular style during August with a special afternoon in the Parish Hall where all were immersed in a musical by Perform Education.  The musical, entitled ‘Story Quest’, wove narrative and music together featuring books from the CBCA 2022 Shortlist.

Our Year 6 students have been busy with developing picture books and during Book Week visited the local kindergartens where they have shared picture books with the pre-schoolers.

We thank Mrs Gole for all the planning and effort she has put into making Book Week a very special event on the OHR calendar.
