Preps celebrate 100 days of learning at Our Holy Redeemer Primary School

Last week our teachers Mrs Hollow and Ms Dening prepared a special day to recognise 100 days of learning in Prep.  The Prep students arrived at school wearing clothes that typified what might be worn by a 100 year old person.  You have never seen so many walking canes!

The day began with a photo shoot to capture the precious memories of the Prep’s first year at OHR.  This was followed with some quiet time in prayer where God was thanked for the many blessings received – remembering how fortunate the children are to have such great educational opportunities here in Australia.

The students then set about making ‘100 day glasses’ where they displayed their great fine motor skills that have been strengthened over 100 days of learning.

A “Buddy Catch Up” followed where Preps practiced precise counting to check their 100 item collections.  There were conversations on the topic “Things I would like to do before I am 100”.

The Fitness session consisted of 100 star jumps, 100 second sprints and some class games.

The students watched 101 Dalmatians, had some fun with Mr Bode and finished off the day with a special afternoon tea supplied by our incredibly supportive Prep parents.

Ms Dening and Mrs Hollow would like to extend their many thanks to everyone involved in sharing this special day.

Athletics Trial Day

The students at OHR are looking forward to competing in the District Athletics Day at Doncaster Athletics Track on Monday, 4 September.  Students have undertaken the selection process to compete in the different track and field events by rotating through all the different events and have had an opportunity to try them all. We look forward to sharing the results with the parish community.
