Science and STEM Family Night

What an incredible evening we had last week at our inaugural Science and STEM family night. The atmosphere was truly delightful, filled with a palpable sense of enthusiasm and the beaming faces of children who were both excited and proud as they eagerly showcased their work to families. We are extremely grateful for all the families who were able to attend – the hall was packed to capacity! The turnout was beyond expectations and served as a testament to the family support for Science and STEM education.

A special note of appreciation goes out to the families who also generously made contributions on our fundraising page. Through ticket sales and these generous donations, we have successfully raised an impressive total of $4,031.00! This remarkable achievement now allows us to purchase not two, but three 3D printers! Moreover, the remaining funds will allow for the purchase of other valuable equipment to enhance our STEM learning. Mrs Axon, our fantastic Science and STEM teacher is now in the process of researching several exciting products but rest assured, a decision will be announced soon so stay tuned!

Sporting Schools – Judo

Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. We are thrilled to bring to bring the Olympic Sport of Judo to OHR during Term 3.

The Judo program is designed to provide students of all abilities the opportunity to have a successful first experience of Judo in the school environment. Our students from P-6 are having a wonderful experience with the coaches Ryley and Maria who are both National Champions in their age and weight. We are having fun and learning new skills. How lucky are we!

We still have an action packed few weeks left before the end of Term 3, with Book Week celebrations when our Year 6’s will launch their picture book creations, Father’s Day celebrations and our students have been busy rehearsing enthusiastically with Mr Bode and their classroom teachers for the school concert on Thursday, 14 September.  From all reports, this concert is going to be spectacular!
