3/4 Camp Anglesea

Year 3 and 4 students from Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Anglesea at their recent Burnside Camp. The camp’s coastal location provided the perfect setting for beach activities that combined fun and learning.  Our young adventurers immersed themselves in three days filled with team-building activities, outdoor challenges, and unforgettable memories.  They conquered the climbing wall, nature trails and rope courses while honing their navigational skills through the orienteering challenge.  Through engaging in initiative activities, the students developed their teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills.  The highlight for many was the Pyjama movie night.  Everyone brought their favourite soft toy and matching bedtime outfits.

The Burnside Camp experience was a fantastic opportunity for our students to step out of their comfort zones, connect with nature, and forge lasting friendships.

New Preps at OLGC

As this year comes to a close, we begin our preparations for 2024 and a group of new families joining our OLGC community.  Last Sunday, we came together at our Welcome Mass to extend a warm embrace to our new Prep families.  Your presence and warm greetings have undoubtedly set the tone for a harmonious integration into our OLGC family.  Our new Prep families bring a wealth of diversity, experiences, and perspectives that will undoubtedly enrich both our school and Parish community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us in making these families feel not just welcome but truly a part of our cherished community.

The journey has already begun for our 2024 Preps, who have embarked on their transition sessions with infectious enthusiasm. It’s a special time as they take their initial steps into the world of primary education, and we are thrilled to guide them through this exciting transition.  We look forward to watching our newest students grow, learn, and flourish as they embark on this exciting chapter of their academic journey.

OLGC will have our annual Family Carols Night on Wednesday 6 December.  We invite our Parish community to join us to see our Preps in the Nativity, followed by Christmas carols with the rest of the school.  Our carols will be held on the grassed area at OLGC.  Community members are warmly invited to bring a picnic and join in the festivities, beginning at 6pm.
